While we have some time before the ice is in, the KHL Board wants to share our open volunteer positions for the 2025-2026 season. Additionally, we have a variety of open coach positions, including head coaches, assistant coaches, dryland coaches, Learn-to-Play coaches and more. KHL 2025-2026 Volunteer Opportunities:
Finance Committee - 3 to 5 members
Three (3) to five (5) active members, who investigate ways and means of financing KHL, analyze overall expenses, and make recommendations to the Board. The Treasurer serves as an ex officio member of the Committee, but is not the chair. The committee may conduct any special costs study or financial examination required by the Board, as well as prepare an annual budget of KHL and submits this budget to the Board by the end of February.
Fundraising Committee - 1 to 2 members
The Fundraising Committee raises funds as required for the current and future operations of KHL, and submits a report to the membership at the Annual Meeting. The committee is chaired by an appointed member of the Board of Directors and consists of at least two (2) additional members.

- Send “thank you’s” and donation receipt to all who donated throughout the season
- Please note: fundraisers need to be approved by the KHL Board
- Works closely with the Kodiak High School Hockey program
Operations/Advisory Committee Positions:
Referee Coordinator - 1 member
The Referee Coordinator administers the Referee Program, including but not limited to recruiting new referees, ensuring all referees have obtained proper certifications and comply with the regulations of USA Hockey and any other national governing body for referees, and scheduling referees for all USA Hockey sanctioned KHL events. This position is part of the Operations/Advisory Committee, which is chaired by the KHL President.
Team Manager Liaison - 1 member
The Team Manager Liaison acts as a bridge between team managers, coaches, and/or board members. They facilitate communication, coordinate efforts, and ensure alignment of KHL mission and goals. Duties include sharing schedules, codes of conduct, tournaments, travel arrangements, and other pertinent updates with Team Managers and Coaches. This position is part of the Operations/Advisory Committee, which is chaired by the KHL President.
Equipment Coordinator - 1-2 members
The Equipment Coordinator maintains an inventory of all uniform jerseys and ice-sport related equipment owned by KHL and assures that it is maintained in good condition. This position is part of the Operations/Advisory Committee, which is chaired by the KHL President.

Special Events Coordinator - 1 member
The Special Events Coordinator plans and administers annual KHL events. This position is part of the Operations/Advisory Committee, which is chaired by the KHL President.
- Learn-to-Play gear distribution date in September
- Gear Swap date in September
- Open House late-September/early-October
- Scorekeeping/Timekeeper training event
- New Years’ Pond Hockey & End-of-season Pond Hockey
- Other events, as needed
- Works closely with the Fundraising Chair to advertise and set dates for fundraising events
- Please note: events need to be approved by the KHL Board, prior to advertising
Volunteer Committee - 1 to 2 members
The Volunteer Committee recruits and manages volunteers to assist in key KHL activities. This position is part of the Operations/Advisory Committee, which is chaired by the KHL President.
- Compile list of volunteer opportunities for the upcoming season
- Work with the Registrar to set-up volunteer registration and ensure all volunteers are registered per ASHA rules
- Share volunteer opportunities throughout the season
- Work with Event Coordinator to plan Scorekeeping/Timekeeper training event for volunteers and assist with dibs for other events
- Work with Team Managers on volunteer needs and assist with dibs or other needs, such as scorekeepers and timekeepers
- Works with the Merchandise Coordinator, to assist with dibs for Hoodie Hut
- Track volunteer hours throughout the season
- Plan volunteer thank-you event at end-of-season
Merchandise Coordinator - 1 member
The Merchandise Coordinator maintains an inventory of KHL merchandise and uses the Hoodie Hut for merchandise sales. This position is part of the Operations/Advisory Committee, which is chaired by the KHL President.
- Prior to start of the season, inventory all merchandise in the Hoodie Hut
- Prep Howie’s Hockey & Bases Loaded order to submit to KHL Executive Committee
- Work with Treasurer/Finance Committee to finalize sales report for the 2024-2025 season
- Create a Hoodie Hut schedule for the 2025-2026 season, work with the Volunteer Coordinator to create dibs for Hoodie Hut sales days
Clinics, Camps & Tournaments Committee - 1 to 2 members
The Clinic and Camp Committee coordinates hockey clinics and camps, hosted by KHL. This position is part of the Operations/Advisory Committee, which is chaired by the KHL President.
- Upcoming camp: Lamoureux Hockey Camp October 16th - 19th
- Goalie Camp: reach out to Cassi Campbell to see if KHL Goalie Clinic is possible
- State host: works with the Director of Coaching on potential of hosting state
- KHL-hosted Tournaments: works with the Director of Coaching on potential of hosting a tournament
